Michelin tire beads

Torn Mind

Lifer
This includes the brands they own like Uniroyal and BFGoodrich.

They must have some of the most difficult steel beads on the planet to dismount by hand. Today, I had to dismount a busted Uniroyal Tiger Paw. Now, maybe age increase the difficulty. I had throw my body weight to push that damn bead into the drop center and squeeze in the tire iron. This is after I englightened myself regarding technique about utilizing the drop center in the tire.

At least 3-or-4 years back, I had mount a BFGoodrich and it too was a fierce struggle.

I don't know what tires are in some of those youtube vids, but some can break the bead using just pry bars or body weight.

I suppose it's a testament to Michelin build quality.
