Michelin Challenge sees a fanciful future for Chinese auto design

Designs for the emerging Chinese market was the theme of the 2004 Michelin Challenge Design. A record number of designers from around the world submitted entries, presenting a wide array of vehicle sizes, shapes and concepts.

A jury of top international designers reviewed 103 entries from 27 countries and selected two full-size concept vehicles, 11 scale models and 28 renderings to be exhibited at the NAIAS.

Of the cars on that page, the van in the center is the most normal looking. The black one looks like the Batmobile :Q. With the exception of the minivan there, those cars look more "artistic" than something that could ever be seriously considered for production, IMO.
