Michael Vick hurt.

Even Jeremy Shockey got hurt last night and broke a rib. If all the good players start going down, the NFL will be scared into cutting out all preseason games I think.

Bad for Atlanta, good for Dallas.

I guess we wont get to see how good or bad Dallas is on their season opener.

you are of course assuming that dallas wins.

If dallas loses to atlanta without vick, one would then think that dallas is pretty weak.

That has to hurt. Just smacking your shin into something hard hurts like hell... imagine if it was broken.

BTW, what exactly is the Madden curse ?

GAH!!!

I knew it!!

I just bought 3 tickets yesterday to see them play up at Indy on Dec. 14. I was telling my nephew, "Now, watch him get injured and we won't even get to see him play!"

ACK!!

But, if it's just six weeks, he'll be back in early/mid-October.

who is their backup QB?

Doug Johnson

The season is toast and every seat for every game was sold out including the 4 preseason games.

The season isnt toast. Vick will be back after only missing 4-6 games regular season game. Im sure the Falcons can go 1-3 or 2-4 in his absence.

Yet another reason to have your fantasy football drafts late in the preseason.

Mine's tonight. I'm in a keeper league though and somebody already had Vick.

I've got first pick in the draft, I'm thinking quarterback for trade bait....

*raises hand*

You obviously haven''t seen the guy play and/or don't give a Rats butt about Football in general.

With the way he plays, it was just a matter of time before he was injured. Hes not going to have a long NFL career with how he plays. Sure he was injured in a play when he scrambled from the pocket, but that doesnt matter. The more he runs the greater risk of injury.

Hopefully he'll come back just fine.

A broken fibula really is a pretty minor injury as far as broken bones go. Players and runners have broken it before and kept on playing not realizing it's broke. Something like 85 percent of the support in the lower leg is from the tibia (shin bone, the one in the front).

Now breaking your tibia is a VERY big deal.

This sucks for the Falcons. I think Vick is on his way to becoming the best QB in the NFL. I was looking forward to him playing every Sunday. But at least the injury won't keep him out for the season.

Actually they dont know how long he will be out. It'll be another 10 days before they know if he damaged ligaments in his ankle. If he does have damaged ligaments, he will have to have season ending surgery. Lets hope not, but at this point they dont know. At this point hes out atleast six weeks. Even then he wont be in that great of playing condition.
