No, if you say anything against gays you are a homophobe or bigot. The only time it is acceptable to go after someone is if they are a white male.

I don't think it was that big of a dealif you lok at it in context. Yeah it was insensitive, but that is what you get at a comedy club.

He kept going on and on and on with it. He let the heckler get under his skin and he completely crossed the line and turned into a fight between him and the heckler. I can imagine the conversations in the parking lot from the people getting up and walking out of there.

And, apparently, Richards will be interviewed (I think via video hook-up) on Letterman tonight.

Maybe thats what he was going for, trying to get a little publicity.

No, I believe the interview is an after-the-fact thing. Perhaps a chance to let him clear the air (or, rather, make a bigger ass of himself)? Seinfeld is supposed to be on, too.

The greatest double standard in America is still alive and well, I see.

I am not a pure hollywood hater but a serious decline in the moral fabric of america can be attributed to hollywood and media execs and I wonder what % of them are Jewish

Tar and Feather his stupid ass... Will these guys come out and apologize to the blacks? http://www.adl.org/

They should sue his sorry ass just because

What does it matter what % of the media execs are Jewish?

It matters because dahunan is a racist.

Or he could have played it really safe like that insurance company and went after cave men :)

On a serious note, even though he apologized I don't buy it. You cannot say such things and then say that "I am not racist".

If he would have came out and said something like, "I hated those two ass clown hecklers and decided to get to them like they got to me. I wanted to hit them deep in their core and insult them like they did me, so I went the racial route", I would have had a little more respect for him. Claiming he is not racist, well, that is just an out and out lie.

This crap happens all the time.

The only difference is that this was caught on tape.

Gaurantee you mel gibson wouldn't be releasing a movie if his ass was caught on tape making his people look stupid.

I agree this happens all the time. I firmly believe everyone is racist to an extent, just on massively different levels. The only thing we can do is to try to understand and have more tolerance for people that are different than us. If Michael Richards had a backbone, he would make a real effort to correct his intolerance and fears by working to correct his problem instead of masking it. No public speeches, no public denials, just attacking his problem.

With all the Political Correctness there is in the world now, it will not make racism go away. All it manages to do is sweep all the racism under the rug. It does not change how people feel about themselves and others, it only hides it.

Wow.. news to me.. thank you for revealing my true identity

I think it is BS for him to say what he said and they could sue for the pain and embarrassment he caused them... may not flybut he should not be allowed to get off with just a little apology...

Maybe someone should tie a black mannequin to his car and let him take it for a drag.. it would fit the profile of someone with his views.

I love the way people in this country blame attorneys for all the frivolous lawsuits, but then they encourage, and engage in frivolous lawsuits whenever it suits their personal agendas.

To sue for emotional distress, the plaintiff has to suffer such severe emotional stress that he requires medical treatment. Any lawsuit in this situation would be complete BS, and a blatant shakedown by the plaintiff's counsel.

Maybe I am a little sensitive when it comes to racism in this country... apologies with the same mouth that said the racist comments are not acceptable... he needs to do more than just open that same racist mouth..

I don't think they were that harmed - really .. but I hate racists ..

I dislike racists as well, but we have a First Amendment in this country. Our problem is not words, but the sentiment behind them. I am wary of abusing the legal process to deal with constitutionally-protected speech. Verbally insulting someone is not actionable, plain and simple.

I know we do.. I am just being vengeful... :( it is not healthy .. It just feels like media celebrities should be held to a different standard than bar thugs..

I do respect our bill of rights ... I just get a very heavy heart when I think back to scenes of innocent americans hanging from trees or being burned on a stake or drug behind pickup trucks just because some fvcking aasshole thinks they can do that..

**racism and slavery are one of the reasons I dislike Christians.. they owned slaves and went to Church on Sunday and never thought anything was wrong with it.. I have read that the sharks still follow the slave triangle hoping to find dead bodies of slaves that didn't make it floating in the water after being thrown overboard

I sincerely feel for him.. FWIW I recognize his anger/rage and from one human to another I appreciate his openness and bravery and compassion for his own need for healing.

Does it really matter if he apologizes or not? I mean from this point forward he will always be the "former Seinfeld guy who dropped the N bomb". Once that is out there you never fully recover, the only reason people want an apology is the same reason they always do....

"you tell me you're sorry so that I feel better..even if you don't really mean it say it like you do and we will be cool, although I'll really never let you forget this"

I mean the press 15 years from now will interview him and ask him if he meant what he said and how he feels now...and if he is a racist, if he is, he'll lie and say he's not and that is all that matters as long as he "says" he's not, then everyone is ok.

I am so sick of everyone having to apologize just so that the people recieving the apology can feel better and get on with thier lives, if you need apologies to move on you got bigger problems then needing someone to say "I'm sorry"...do you think the hecklers would have apologized if they saw him at the bar later and he had not gone off on them?...probably not.

would anyone be as offended and would people like Paul Rodrigez be calling him out if these guys had been a couple of fat slobs...and he had gone on and on about what porkers they were? I highly doubt it....

OK, so it's not funny, now.

When I first heard him going off, I have to admit, I laughed my ass off.

Yeah, he totally lost it.

Wow, you sure can pick and choose who's a racist and who should be hated. You make a comment about how Jews are running Hollywood and that's why it's decaying America, and you hate Christians because some of them owned slaves. What a hyprocite.

Seriously, what is wrong with you? You shed these tears over people who were mistreated, and then go on to talk about how much you hate Christians and Jews because of the actions of a few. You're as much a bigot as anybody else. If you were in front of me I'd spit in your pathetic face.

Go cry your crocodile tears elsewhere.
