Apart from the whole cheating on your wife thing...

and gambling problem...

What exactly was the problem? He never caused his family financial problems and it never affected his job/career. People want to talk about how he lost 100,000 on a golf bet, or he plays BJ until 2 AM. But honestly, he played at levels that were in line with his income. He was making 100 million dollars a year. So, what's the big deal?

Gambling addictions are serious problems. Then there's the whole being an unfaithful, worthless piece of shit.

Gambling addictions aren't serious when you can afford it. As for being unfaithful, not to condone what he did... but most guys put in his shoes would do the very same thing. It's easy not to cheat when no one wants you, it gets a bit harder when the opposite is true.

I don't believe that for one second.

I do. I wouldn't be able to be faithful if I had women thrown at me like that. I wouldn't even try.

People must tear others down to make themselves feel as if even the best of us are not as good as we think they are. In other words, people suck.

Wow really? The gambling is pretty bad...but cheating on your wife? You condone that? Just because he is immortal in the sport of basketball doesn't make him exempt from his personal problems. No excuses. He has a family and he ruined that. The temptation argument is bullshit. If he was really miserable before he should have separated.

Oh boy.

There was a thread a week ago about how one of the OSU Buckeyes made retarded comments. I stated at that point that most athletes are at best retards, and at worst sociopaths. So enjoy the game, but don't put these people up on a pedastal and make them out to be something that they're not.

Michael Jordan is a guy who put a ball inside a hole for 2 decades. That's it. That's all he fucking did, and that's all he ever was, is, or will be. He's not a doctor. He's not an industralist like Henry Ford. He's not a statesman like Gandhi. He's no Mother Theresa either. And yet, based on how people think here in America, as well as how folks encourage little kids to put him on a pedestal, you'd think that he was in the company of those people. But get it through your thick skull. He could be as retarded as a high school kid from Texas. He put a ball in a hole for most of his life for crying out loud. Who gives a shit about "Hall of Fame". So just chill out and don't worry about it.

When did I say they were pieces of shit? I just said its extremely naive to think that a large percentage of decent looking, millionaire athletes don't have chicks on the side. I think it breaks even when they get divorced and the gold digging wife gets $60 million dollars for doing jack shit.

What about well known "good guy" McNair? Married, 4 kids.....2 girlfriends and a "bone apt" 2 miles from his house. As said before, these guys are human, and I don't fault em one bit with the amount of women that throw themselves at them. No "normal" married guy has that

these guys have tons of hot chicks on their dicks everyday but that doesn't excuse what they did. but in MJs defense, we don't know anything about how his marriage was and what the circumstances were but i do understand why some people cheat...being in a relationship for the sake of the kids or some other reason is difficult enough as it is without having hot chicks throw themselves at you. without knowing exactly why he did it, i'm not going to judge him. what he did was bad but i don't think it makes him a piece of shit. everyone errs.

I'm sorry, what exactly do you know about his personal life and his arrangement with his wife?

He ruined his family? LOL. You seem to know an a lot about hows his family feels, lives and thinks.

Not to mention that it doesn't mean he's a bad guy. He made a bad CHOICE/DECISION. Not all men can withstand temptation and are perfect like you. He made a mistake and life goes on. But, he also donated a ton of time and money. Go read his article about the Make a Wish foundation. He gave over 175 wishes (most of anyone) and donated a lot of time/money to them. He's a good guy overall, but no one said he was perfect. He's the greatest basketball player of all time as well.

Anybody read Wojnarowski's column?

Link

I caught the tail end of the speech. Sure there were parts I didn't like so much like when he talked about organizations vs players and his ego did seem huge when talking to his kids and how popular he was but I reallyyyyy think this Wojnarowski guy completely missed the main point of the speech. It was pretty cool to hear all these stories about the people that motivated him and learn to take a joke dude, Jordan isn't coming back to basketball. Guy needs some batteries in his sarcasm meter. He's written a few other really retarded columns as well.

Why? I wouldn't put it as severely as Paddington did, but being a sports superstar doesn't make you any better or worse than anyone else, and people's emotional involvement with sports is bizarre at best.

I'd say MJ is safely the finest BBall player of all time so far, and although he's of course flawed, seems to be a decent guy overall. He's done a lot of charity work, and not the simple 'write a check' kind either. He has a big ego, big accomplishments, and some big failures under his belt. I wish him well, and still can't understand why people get so bent over sports figures. I met MJ at a CES about 15 years ago, he was very gracious and cool, but honestly, I'd be more impressed meeting a member of the screaming eagles or whatnot.

I'm sure if the basement dwellers of OT had literally 100's of insanely hot women throwing themselves at them, day in, day out, they'd remain 100% faithful eternally.
