Michael Irvin Caught With Crack Pipe

Ok... On Friday former Cowboys receiver, Michael Irvin, got pulled over for speeding. He had an outstanding warrant for an unpaid ticket so he was taken into custody. No big deal. Upon his arrest his car was searched and a crack pipe was found. It is officially listed as "drug paraphenalia" but since that time it has become clear it was a crack pipe.

Michael's explaination for the pipe is that it belonged to a friend that he was helping to get clean. He drove his friend to his house for T-Giving dinner and before leeting his freind in the house he patted him down to make sure he didn't have anything on him. he found the pipe. He placed the pipe under the seat of his car with the intention of tossing it in a dumpster the next morning.

Today he gave an interview with Dan Patrick on ESPN Radio. In that interview Dan asked him directly: "Will you take a drug test to clear your name?"

He asked Michael that question twice. Both times Michael gave an artful non-answer.

What do you think? Is he lying? Is he clean?
Here's my take. I believe him when he says the pipe wasn't his. I'm not so sure he would pass a UA though.

Of course he's lying. Throw it in a dumpster? When you could just smash it on the ground right there or take it inside and throw it away? And how is taking an addicts pipe going to stop him? "Ah damn, my pipe is gone...how am I going to smoke this crap?"

"It's not mine"
"I did not inhale"
"I did not have sexual relation with that woman"

Exactly. Why throw it in a dumpster? Why put it under your seat. Just smash it or chunk it, there's zero reason to keep it around.

He's been caught with drugs before, Im sure he's probably still doing them. Besides, he's a Cowboy, he has to be in trouble with the law in some way.

I'm thinking this was one big conspiracy by ESPN simply to boost ratings. Apparently, they've already said he will continue to be a member of the GameDay crew.

Haha... His excuse for that was that he's caught people going through his trash before.

Dan Patrick said it best. Addicts are the BEST liars.

Michael is going to be on ESPN tonight in his usuall seat for Monday Night Countdown. It'll be interesting to see how much longer ESPN keeps him around or if he'll be on Inside the NFL this week.

Yeah he intentionally got arrested for an outstanding warrant to have them find a crack pipe with the potential to server jailtime as a repeat offender...just to boost ratings.

Wow. Brilliant.
