i can't seem to play starcraft with a lot of precision

my mouse isn't doing so well on this wood platform because it just moves back 'n forth at random points, mostly because the laser isn't reading efficiently to the wood surface

i've tried a few mouse pads and they suck, not to mention the different mice, even new ones

i wanna play pc games without the hassle of my mouse not obeying my every command according to the optical sensors, mouse clicks are fine except for when you're clicking on the wrong spot when your mouse cursor flies somewhere else

no, it's not a driver issue, it's the stupid optical sensors, because if you move your mouse really fast on the mouse pads, you still get distortion

for example, you're playing starcraft and trying to micro manage your troops. thus your mouse is moving in fast swerves, and I can't get this to do it well, unless it was a metal surface (old desk without stupid mouse pads).

alright, don't give me any crap or simple stuff like get more expensive stuff, I need professional posts that aim at solving problems. thank you~

get logitech mx series. I had a microsoft optical mouse that would go all over the place if I used it on my wood-grained desk. my mx1000 has no problems with it.

Some system specs would be nice. What mouse do you use? I somewhat has a similar problem with the Logitech Dual Optical mouse, but not as severe as you're describing it.

Also try the Peripherals forum.
