Mic Trouble with Vista Ultimate

I've tried everything!

I'm using a soundblaster live 24-bit with a headset, and nothing seems to work. It's balanced at 100%, and in the custom tab under properties, there's no option for mic boost, which i think would be the solution to the problem.

So AT, pleeeease help.

yes, its just really quiet.

for example, i test my mic in CS:S, and have to scream to hear myself.

Also, there is no option for mic boost in the custom tab for the mic settings

are you sure that it is using your mic? It's possible that it's picking up the sound from somewhere else that is relatively far away and not using the mic that you think it's using.

ya, ive got one mic

I'm using the built-in Realtek chips with Vista Business, and I see a "Microphone Boost" adjustment, too. But I suspect those adjustments are provided by the sound chip maker, so they may have left it out of the Vista Control Panel.

Have you got a "Level" adjustment for the Microphone, as shown in the post above? Are we looking at the same controls?
