I have been having problems with my headset mic. I cant seem to get it to work correctly. The sound works just find in the headphones, but people say the mic is super loud with a lot of interference and they can hear my game sounds coming through my mic. When I do the sound test through counterstrike, I hear my test repeating over and over as it gets quieter. I also heear all the interference. Sounds like the sound is stuck in some sort of loop.

I tried messing with the sound settings in XP as well as my Realtek HD Audio driver. Nothing seems to be working

As of now, I have it plugged in the front/side inputs of the case. I'm pretty sure its hooked to the mobo correctly as the sound works and I am pretty sure its just one solid plug into the mobo, not a bunch of little pins that I could have messed up.

So, anyone have an ideas?

Thanks

I have this headset:

In the sound settings make sure you don't have Mic Boost on. You may want to open up the sound recorder in windows and record yourself and play it back to see if y9our getting the same issues outside the game. Then check the sound and mic settings in the game and make sure the game is using windows default and not trying to control the mic on its own.
