Mic problem

When I try to use my mic on ingame Counter strike, it seems to break up for some reason. The mic works fine out of game in Vent and Teamspeak. People can't understand what I am saying when I try to use ingame talk. I have a SB Audigy gamer card and have tried many different mics. Any suggestions of how to fix it?

thanks

First make sure that you have Microphone turned up in Volume Control.
Second, make sure that nothing has changed in the Creative folder (at least that is the folder for my Audigy 2).
Third, make sure that you have Mic (or something like that) turned up in Counterstrike. It has been a while since i played CS, but i used the mic some. It may also be CS's fault. Try the mike with sound recorder, make sure it is clear on there.

Done all that...Anymore help?

Mic works fine out of CS or with another program running while playing CS such as TeamSpeak and Ventrillo

Do you have Microphone Boost enabled (i believed that is what it is called). Also, try getting on Day of Defeat or another Steam gaming and making sure it works on there. If it doesn't then it is probably a Steam problem. Finally, this may sound stupid, but are you speaking clearly when you talk into it. Sometimes that can be the problem.
