Mic not working on PC with MSI GTX1050 ti (thinking gpu is reason.)

Mic worked fine on 2 other PCs but not on this one with the 1050ti; might it have taken over control of the mic and if so how can I get it working?

Go to the Control Panel, then Sound settings, and in the Recording tab make sure the mic input you want to use is the default device. If you have open the application you want to use your mic in, close it and re-launch it.

Also, check the Privacy Settings and make sure the Mic isn't turned off and not allowed to be used by any apps.
