My mom got a stereo put in her car, a pretty nice Jensen touchscreen with Nav/BT/etc. The included mic kind of sucks, no matter where you place it, you sound like you're far away to the person on the other end.

Is there such a thing a a high-gain Mic for this application? The Jensen uses a 3.5mm minijack.

Thanks!

I've got the exact same issue with my JVC unit. It sucks since hands free phone use was why I changed the stereo in the first place. At this point I have gotten used to shouting when talking on the phone in the car.

Its not the mic. From my research it has to do with the type of blutooth. The original BT was horrible and caused what you stated above. Theres a newer version of BT which is enhanced BT+ I think (manufacturers seem to customize its name though). These guys on here talk about it. Hope this helps.

maybe there is a volume adjustment setting on the stereo that can be adjusted? POSSIBLY adjust the bluetooth volume setting on the phone and see if that improves the issue.
