Mic and Sound issues with new Mobo

Hey guys, I recently bought a new computer that is using a Gigabyte DS3 motherboard. I am using on board sound and the RealTek HD Audio Manager.

Since I've upgraded, my speaker volumn hasn't been as crisp or loud and my Mic (which I can't find the mic boost for) sounds like I'm talking on the far end of a bathroom with the door shut.

Can anyone relate to these problems and give me some pointers for correcting them? My previous motherboard was an ABit and I also used onboard sound with that and had absolutely no problems with it.
