Hi I have just built my first system and am having issues regarding my headphone socket and mic socket on my fractal design r3 case basically they are not working. I have an ASUs p8z77v-pro motherboard what have I done wrong. Do these sockets require a power supply and what does their cable look like and where should I plug it into. I am using the on board sound card

If you are using onboard sound there is a cable from the case that plugs into a plug on the mobo. If you are using a dedicated sound card then you plug the case cable to the plug on the soundcard. The manuals for the mobo/soundcard and the case should tell you what you need.
