Ahh, so many parties, so many women, but so little time. Things worked out well for me though...I was worried about getting into parties but I did not wait a single minute in a line waiting to get in to a club!
Friday nite, as soon as me, cousin and his friend got into the hotel, we went out for sushi. Just so happens that at the table next to us, this DJ's promoter is hanging out with his crew. We get to chatting and he says we're welcome to come out to Nocturnal and see DJ Jo Jo Florez (???) spin his brand of house/breakbeats. He puts us on the guest list, and we pay no cover. The club was tight--3 floors and different dance rooms throughout spinning hip hop, eclectic stuff (bongo drums and techno mixed?), and house.
Saturday I met up with my sister and one of my friends from NC who recently moved down to Ft. Lauderdale. Unfortunately, a friend of mine from school here in Rochester couldn't make it--her house and cars were completely flooded from the hurricane. Started the day at Mangos drinking tropical fruity drinks that no man can be seen with outside of the tropics. Then we walked the boulevard drinking coronas up and down. Found a tequileria and had a few rounds of Patron (never had it before, but I believe its overrated) and a mojito to chase them with.
Our plan for Saturday night was to stop by The Shore Club for a drink before heading to Mansion, where our VIP status would get us in past the line (though we still had to pay for the privelidge of bottle service, etc.) We forgot Kanye was hosting his party at Shore Club. A bouncer shooed us away (no females) so we went to a bar closeby. Well, one of my friends meets this cute girl and is talkin her up--pretty soon they are inseparable. We think all hope is lost of going to Mansion, when suddenly this girl and her friends invite us to Kanye's party. We spent 20 minutes there and saw Apl.de.ap from the Peas, Ying Yang twins, Bobby Brown, and other notable celebrities whose names I don't know. Then it started raining briefly so we left to hail a cab to the Mansion. Half an hour later, apparently, Suge Knight got shot at Shore Club.
Mansion! Wow. Too much for words. Bartenders in skimpy Catholic schoolgirl outfits. We walk in and John Legend is tickling the ivories and crooning on stage. Later on the Black Eyed Peas played an electrifying set (at 2am no less!) Don't know who else performed beforehand, but no sign of Linkin Park, Snoop Dogg or others we expected there. I had a good time on the dance floor--Miami brings all the hotties to town!
My regret is no pics...I did not get the SD400 I wanted beforehand, and the cameraphone pics are useless as usual.
