Yep. Miami/FSU may be good for TV ratings but it is sloppy as a football game. This is why you see so many teams playing the weak-sisters-of-the-poor for their first game.

True, but it's been so exciting, at least for FSU/Miami fans, for the past several weeks leading up to this game. If we'd opened with Troy (who we play in a few days) instead of Miami, it would have been very ho-hum. While I know it's not exhilarating for the college football in general to watch 10-7 or 13-10 games, it is THE game of the weekend, the one that ESPN has devoted tons of advertising dollars for, and that's exposure that's hard to buy.
