why does everyone care how much other people make?
We all get paid way too much for what we do.
because obviously i would've skipped college and went straight to becoming a Miami Beach cop. Kelloggs doesnt pay me enough to taste test froot loops all day.
There are tons of people out there with no college degree who make way more than that. Its about book smarts vs street smarts. Unfortunately, I have neither
Did I ever ask you if you live in Battle Creek?

Eh making that much even degree or no through legal or illegal means is mostly luck.![]()
And I get to look forward to attending community college and making probably $50k a year, if that.
Yay me.

So is this another one of those articles that finds one cop that works 80 hours of overtime a week and uses that to make a case that cops are over paid?
Wow, could that article be any more biased?
As an older ATOT'er I can tell you one thing that has changed about America is how many, many people have developed resentments for people who make good money on a job.
Years ago when the Teamsters made a great salary driving trucks, people may have been envious, but not downright hostile.
Somehow Americans have gotten the idea their lives suck because someone else is making good money. In fact, nowadays many truckers are barely getting by since the Teamsters union has been decimated and many drivers are now owner/operators.
Now these owner/operators pay very little, or no income tax. Yet another reason we have huge deficits. And since the drivers now have far less disposable income, they hurt everyones income, since the don't contribute enough to the consumer demand.
I much prefer to think everyone should be making 225k and how much better that would be for the country. Imagine if we didn't have the unfair trade with China, and America was still paying its factory workers what they would have been making. Far more disposable income, far more people sharing the tax load, American and European goods costing the world more money but the only option. That helps Americas trade deficit, provides better lives and education for Americans, etc.

not really. I'm in (legal) sales and there are tons of guys out there who never finished high school that make a ton.
My old boss was the pefect example. He could barely read but cleared $175k/year because he was a super salesman.
