MIA where is MSI

A couple of things.

MSI's SLI offering appears to be MIA (Neo4 Diamond) Both ASUS and Gigabyte have their boards up on the web sites with ASUS boards tricking into the retail channel.

PCIe apart from eVGA their are not any PCIe 6800's around, you may as well hold off buying a board till the video cards are about, bonus being that MOBO's should have come down from gouge pricing.

I'm looking forward to when all three Mobo's are reviewed and put through their paces against one another before deciding which one to buy.

There is a thread here somewhere with a guy running the Diamond with 2x6800U SLI. Dumba$$es posting were arguing over the SBLive 24bit audio chip instead of asking about the setup So the board may not be on the shelves yet but it is definitely out there getting tested.

yup, i have an Asus SLI en route to my home as we speak, should be here monday. $201+ shipping, booyah.

I personally don't like the Diamond, cause I'm pissed at MSI for dropping PCIe x1 slots on most of their boards, this one included. Their ATI chipset mobo is also without x1 slots. I guess they don't realize that the expansion slots are more important than the video slots (except maybe for SLI). Personally, i like SLI, but don't know if I'll use it or not. I'm getting a 6600GT, and if it's dirt cheap later on, and there's nothing compelling next gen, i'll buy another one. Otherwise, i'll get a new card. I just bought the SLI cause it's only $10 more than the cheapest Ultra board (MSI Neo4) and I can get it NOW, rather than waiting. Plus, it's nice to have bragging rights, even if you won't use some of the features on the mobo.

Incidentally, is go bucks refereing to the 2002 College National Champions? If so I commend you on your choice of screen name. (GO BUCKS!!!!)
