I acquired a few of these from Ebay. They're PCMCIA Smart Card readers and Smart Cards. The cards are supposed to be ISO7816-4 compliant, but all of my WinXP tools tell me that they are "mute cards".

The original driver work fine with the cards in Win98. Does anyone know where I can obtain newer drivers? The company that made these is out of business?

Things I know so far:
The card reader is an OEM SCM SCR-210. Which is compatible with the SCR-201. I've flashed one over and it reads more "modern" Smart Cards without any difficulty.

Neither new or old ROMs are able to read those Smart Cards in WinXP, leading me to believe that it's a software problem. Probably WinXP doesn't have the ATR mask for those cards.

The software I install for Win98 somehow blocks hardware access to the Smart Card reader. Nothing I have can read the ATR off those cards.

Suggestions, advice? I've tried web.archive.org, with no luck. I know the file I'm looking for is pass_lap.zip, but they didn't archive it and google returns nothing.
