MGS4 Online

So a friend and I were going to give this a shot this weekend but it turned out that to play it online you have to register for a Konami ID AND a GameID on the Konami website. WTF? why doesn't it just use my PSN ID and be done with it?

We didn't bother with registering to play online since we didn't know what the online content really was. What we wanted to do was 2-player coop stuff but I doubt you could run through the story that way 🙂

It's a ridiculous pain, but it's really not that hard to create credentials to sign in. MGO is basically a completely different game from MGS4, the latter just happens to come with the former (or a "demo" of it). So if you were looking for MGS4 co-op, you won't find any in MGO.

I really wanted to like and get into MGO, but it's a freaking headshot fest and I just don't have the time or patience to spend with it. The setup is somewhat similar to COD4 in that there are different abilities or perks you can give to your player, and I believe their usefulness increases as you play and make use of them. You can also earn points which in turn allow you to buy cosmetic gear for your player character. The setup and customization options are pretty impressive.

I also wanted to get into this but it seems prohibitively hard to sign up for and I heard the gameplay was masochistic as well.

I hated it. You have to jump through hoops to sign up. It's not that bad, but it's above and beyond what any other game requires and is totally unnecessary. Once you finally play the game, it's just complete garbage. Controls are terrible, nobody talks. It's really unlike any other MP game.

Well that takes care of that then 🙂

Finding 2-player co-op games for online play is more difficult than I imagined, especially if you're looking for something beyond Lego Star Wars...

It's an alright game, they just need to up the bullet damage. Make sure you go for headshots or you'll get almost no kills.
