I've been trying out some new monitors lately, I was using a 24" IPS from Eizon but I wanted to get something bigger. I picked up a MG279q because it hit all the boxes I was looking for, initially I was pretty pleased with it, the colors are really good and there is very low motion blur from what I can tell. Freesync also works great, everything is really smooth with it on and even though it only works up to 90Hz, it's pretty hard to push anything newer higher than 90fps anyway so it seems to work fine.
Anyways with all of that great stuff I eventually ran into a problem which unfortunately seems to plague a lot of these panels. I went to play Witcher 3, and running around at night the bottom right corner seems to glow quite badly. At first I thought it was the light in my room but turning it off made the glow more noticeable actually, so I decided to set the screen to a black background and the top and bottom right corners are glowing somewhat badly. I'm contemplating returning this for the same monitor, but seeing reviews from some people make me scared to even try, what if I get one that is far worse? Also, amazon only has used monitors, which I guess were returned for similar problems as mine. Newegg seems to have new monitors in stock but I'm not sure how good their return policy is compared to Amazon, so I am a bit worried I might get stuck with a bad monitor from them.
Does anyone have this monitor without bad ips glow? Any pictures of it would be appreciated, I can put up a picture to show what I'm talking about from mine if anyone is curious.
