I defrag my NTFS MFT & directories yesterday, and everything went fine until this afternoon, when I turned on my system, windows 2000 gave me this error - 'bt848.sys file corrupted'. I had this problem before (last week), after defragging my NTFS MFT and directories, W2K gave me "inaccessible hard disk" error. I used diskeeper on both cases. So is it not safe to defrag NTFS MFT and directories? or diskeeper doesn't do the job well?
I switched back to FAT32 and defrag it, and everything works fine until now, so I don't think it's my hard driver or memory problem.

I've been using Diskeeper to defrag my MFT and directories on Win2000/Xp with 100% success. Started with Diskeeper 6.x on Win2000, am now using 7.0 on both OSes. I've never had any trouble. I do the "boot-time defrag" thing about every other week.

This is the first time I've heard of anyone having trouble with Diskeeper. Most of the horror stories you see have to do with Norton Speed Disk.
