MFT @ 97%

thats a good chance 😛 aha 🙂

thanks for the reply - not sure if i'm ever gonna find the problem, i posted at Storage Review about this problem and got a few replies, but none have helped so far. uh, the prominent issue is with browsing through folders. Browsing through folders seems slow, like 1-2 seconds slow. Its not the menu-show-delay, i already have that set to zero, but as for the machine im talking about, there is nothing but game apps on it. no anti-virus anything, its a fresh install, always defragged, RAID 0 @ 64K stripe size, and browsing into folders is slow, now if i back click, its fast & even going back into the folder destiny is quick, but starting off from a my computer\C:\C:\Program Files etc etc. is slow, i have a good PSU, only one other drive off that PSU cable...

that's what brought me to the MFT... i'm stumped

starting off from c:\ and going to program files is like around instant for me - no 1 or 2 second appearance delay.

I think something could probably be better optimized in your setup, but who knows what the real culprit is without enough testing.

my c: partition is running off an 80gb 7200rpm seagate IDE drive.

one thing that actually takes a few seconds to list the files (only for the first time i bring it up), is a dir under TortoiseSVN control that has 800 files in it, and several thousand more files under a few other sub-dirs.

its fixed, apparently when you have your folders and icons set to 'Single click' to open, the 'click speed' setting still has priority over the speed of the folders opening - NAH MEAN!?!?! but the 'click speed' at which the folders open was set to real slow, i changed it to the fastest and folders open up instantaneously
