I know ther'es the whole talk about real cane sugar vs high fructose corn syrup and how people claim there's a difference.

I was explaining that to my friends today as I saw a thread on some forum before (maybe itw as ATOT). I guess the Costco guy heard me and he told me how there was a blind taste test and there was no real noticeable difference.

Anyhow, I decided to buy $17 worth of Mexican Coke for a try. It's sitting in the fridge having just gotten back from Costco, and so hopefully I'll try some out tonight.

Has anyone here tried it? Any difference? Comments?

Its different. Tastes sweeter. I like international cokes much better than the domestic ones....even the coke light is better than diet coke.

Mexican Coke is definitely better than American Coke.

As far as the difference, it's sweeter-tasting. Besides that, it's hard to explain unless you just drink one yourself. Oh, and the colder the better.

More caffeine to.
I hate Coke, but I drank it like crazy when I spent 3 months down there back in 2000.

Walmart?

They also have Dr. Pepper that uses sugar. It was $7.99 for a six pack of cans.

Ive never seen that at walmart, do they actually sell it much here? Is it clearly labeled that it uses cane sugar or made in x country?

We sell it at a local grocery store where I work at. It's a little over $1/bottle and I believe they are 16oz bottles, too. (quite large and glass, too!)

I've heard nothing but praises about it. The comments I've heard personally reflect those in this thread. We go through quite a bit of it; many people special order it through us by the case.

As for the labeling, there's a sticker that is pasted on the outside to give nutritional facts/content, since it's required in the US. The bottles are clear and have the traditional "Coca Cola" label on them.

Tastes better too.

That's not true anymore. Not all made in Mexico Coke are made with real sugar. The last 2 bottles of Mexican Coke I brought was made with CORN SYRUP so read the label before buying.

Edit: I saw those Coke at Costco too but the label read Corn Syrup instead of sugar. Wally World has the real sugar Coke.

McDonald's Coke is my favorite. I can't stand it from a can or bottle. Maybe I'll have to try the Mexi Mix.

COKE from abroad taste different
Another result is that Coke, etc., taste differently in other countries. I know when you cross the border from Canada, one of the first things one notices is how much sweeter the food and drink tastes.

Uh yea Coke tastes different. I've tried it in Asia like Japan and China have different tasting Cokes. Taiwan is different too. Thailand.... wow the Pepsi was even sweeter.

If you've tried FANTA, it's TOTALLY diffferent in Asia.

Ya, Canada uses sugar too, but I'm not sure if it's cane or beet sugar. At any rate, it tastes different than US Coke. It's not a huge difference, but it's noticeable.

You're questioning the collective wisdom of ATOT based on some Costco guy? For shame!

I tried that Mexican coke, they were selling it at costco in the glass bottles. a friend of mine bought a case, I think it was 17 dollars for a case. It taste like diet soda at first but the aftertaste is not as strong as the regular coke.
