What about the comparison of Mexican to American.

Someone is from Mexico, they are Mexican? Someone is from America, they are American? I feel silly for asking such simple questions but I got flamed for the comparison.

It started with a girl stating on her status

"Ha! "girl be Lookin half black and philipiNa" ...uM I'm neither, but nice combo...good guess"

I replied "You look mexican/caucasian to me... Which I think is a better combo."

She replies "uh i dont think its a better combo....technically aren't Mexicans = Caucasian?"

I reply "Is hispanic the better word? I'm not sure of the technicality, but I'm thinking mexican is like saying american. Not sure."

Her friend replies ""Caucasian?" oh my god i've never heard of a more ignorant term. Caucasus is a region between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.... so I'm guessing you have no idea what people look like from there.... perhaps did you mean "European American" or "White?" why are people so scared of using the correct terms and think that made-up terms are a more pc way of referring to people?"

And then replies again "Jason... you might not know this but you are either racist, sexist, or very VERY culturally ignorant... please do yourself a favor, and spare us the frustration and offense, and keep your mouth shut on these topics until you culturally educate yourself."

I had a debate with the girl earlier in the week about husbands and wives. I said something like, 'women are usually the physically weaker party in the marriage, and husband's naturally want to be able to protect their wives. Mexicans aren't caucasian, they're hispanic. You can't be Mexican American either -at least, I refuse to acknowledge such silly things. You're either Mexican or you're American. You're not African American. You're not Canadian American. You're not British American. You're not Dutch American. You're not Russian American. You're just straight up fucking American (yes, some of you are Fucking Americans )

Your nationality should be a one word answer.

European American's are Caucasian. White people are Caucasian. Caucasian is the CORRECT TERM, if anything european american is the shitty pc term.
