must be a wage cutting measure from Mets standpoint

which means they now either move for Ramirez or Zito?

ugh.. what the hell is Omar doing??!! Benson is a BARGAIN in today's ridiculous pitchers market! Benson may not be an ace but he's a very good 3rd man in the rotation and I thought he was quite good last season when he came back from his injury. He even had 2 great starts against the Yanks and those are high pressure games whether anyone wants to admit it or not.

Julio?? He's a bum.. who the hell is John Maine?? WTF...salary dump?? I thought the Mets had plenty of moolah especially with all the revenue I'm sure they'll get from their new network. I don't get it one damn bit.

Guess this means Heilman is now in the rotation?? I thought he finally found his niche as a 7th inning/long man reliever. He was exceptional last season in that role. ugh.. don't like it at all.

LOL. I'm surprised the Mets signed Iriki. It seemed like one of their goals was to get rid of all their Asian players to make room for more Hispanics.
 
Most likely scenario IMHO is Julio is replacing Heilman in the bullpen

Heilman will then be part of a trade for another starter...likely Zito


I won't miss Benson , but I really think Heilman coudl be a star
