I think this would be a huge improvement over Shea stadium.

However, why are they lowering the number of seats in these new stadiums? The Oakland A's next stadium will only have 35,000 seats. The new Yankees stadium will have 54,000, down about 4,000 from the current stadium.

But they do look pretty modern and I think that is a good thing.

I think they'll find a way to put in even MORE seats and keep that stadium up for another 100 years. Maybe use some industrial strength duct tape and crazy glue to hold it all together. I gotta go there one day. Same for Wrigley.

The reason the capacity is going lower and lower on newer ballparks is becuase they are making more luxury boxes. Corporations pay way more for these than they would get selling seats at $40 a pop. Remember, its a business, not a sport :)
