Mets fans: Where's Looper?

I have noticed the past few days that Braden Looper has not been closing games for the Mets.

Whats the deal? Is he injured?

He's no longer the closer. Willie took away his role after months of ineffectiveness. With only a week left in the season Willie is giving other guys a chance to close games like Roberto Hernandez and Aaron Heilman..etc.

Good riddence to Looper Pooper Scooper Blooper as he will surely not be back next season.

Manager Willie Randolph indicated that he will no longer use Braden Looper exclusively to close games.
Now that the Mets are out of the race, Randolph wants to mix and match with his relievers. That might mean Roberto Hernandez will get a couple of save opps. Still, Looper is the Mets' best choice when the club is due to face primarily right-handed hitters in the ninth.

Braden Looper will likely be the setup man if he returns next season.
Aaron Heilman and Victor Zambrano should get some chances to close out some games this month.

No he's not...Aaron Heilman is. Heilman has allowed just two earned runs in 29 2/3 IP since the beginning of August. (according to Rotoworld).

Looper sucks...

Indeed.
