Metro: LL, genuinely creepy?

I love horror games Silent Hill, Resident Evil 4, Outlast, and Amnesia because of the genuine "creepiness" in the world and atmosphere.

I don't like action games like Dead Space 2, FEAR 3, RE5, Doom 3, because I felt like I was just playing a shooting game with some cheap scares, I don't really care about shooting or action game play.

I played a bit of the first game, and got a vibe that was basically just a shooter with some shallow scares, but I didn't play it very much at all.

I absolutely hate heavily scripted sequences, being forced to sit their and listen to awful dialog. I actually don't like too much dialog as I find silence especial creepy.

So would I like LL, if not any other recommendations?

Penumbra and Amnesia series immediately come to mind. They're genuinely the scariest games out on the PC and I refuse to play them because I still want to sleep at night.

i dont know... u should play the 1st metro beyond the 1st two levels.

its definetely not AS intense as playing Amnesia, in which i was scared to make one more step forward all the time.
But Metro has a good oppresive atmosphere and some jump scares.
I know i was scared in Metro at some points, but i felt it was a good ride

but im a specially scared little guy, i couldnt complete Amnesia, and I play dead space 2 with a friend because im too scared to play it alone lol
and i dont even want to try outlast

oh btw, theres the new game fro the amnesia devs, dont remember if it was released already, machine of the pigs or something like that

Metro LL is a shooter first and foremost. It's not particularly scary, but has an amazing atmosphere. Based on your criteria, though, you probably wouldn't like it.

I'm trying to think of this bad dialogue in 2033. I enjoyed all of it.

Maybe the fact that I've had many Eastern European friends over the years has something to do with it. It all absolutely rings true.

That's how they talk.

LL is a shooter. It has atmosphere and such, but it is a shooter. It is not to be compared with Penumbra or Amnesia.

As much as I loved the game, it's not really scary. It's also really easy now that I think about it. I don't think I died in the entire game, and that's the first time I think I've managed that in any shooter.
