Want to free yourself from metro Atlanta traffic and earn money by doing it? The Clean Air Campaign is relaunching its successful Cash For Commuters program, which awards solo commuters changing to alternative forms of transportation to get to and from work.

If you try carpooling, teleworking, transit, cycling or walking to get to work instead of driving alone, you can earn up to $180 over a 90-day period, or $3 for each day you use an alternative. The program ends December 31, 2003, so sign up today.

It's not a ton of money, but it's basically "free money" if you can carpool, telecommute or whatever. I used my loot to fund a vid card upgrade.

If you work in DC, and work for the Federal Government, they will pay for you to use Public Transportation.

They do the same here. I can get reimbursed for taking our local mass transit.
