Metro 2033 $5 at GG

Not the first time it's been on sale there. Definitely worth it. GamersGate seems shady to me but all you need is the CD key, then you just activate it on Steam and it downloads like any other Steam game.
 
Metro 2033 is a great game. I beat it all the way to the end and thoroughly enjoyed. I also highly recommend Andrey Glukhovsky's books - Metro 2033 and Metro 2034. I hope the game will have a sequel just like the book.
 
Thanks for the heads up - been watching for another sale on Metro 2033.

Just a side note - i have had no problems with Gamersgate, and have bought several games from them. They all still show in my account for immediate download. The serial key can be copied for Metro and downloaded in Steam.

Where do I get the serial key? Do I download the whole thing from GG first? And then I can link it up to Steam? Or can I do everything via Steam?

Heres how to activate on Steam: After buying, make sure you are logged into your account on GG. In the list of "My Games" you will see Metro 2033 listed, click on that. On the right hand side, under the download button for Metro, copy that activation key. Go to your Steam "Library" and at the bottom it says "Add game". I remember some options after you click that, but one of them allows you to paste in the activation key. Be warned though that doing this activates the game on Steam and is then locked to your Steam account.

You dont need to download anything from GG.
