Eug, using his old toilet paper roll as a guide, makes this nice 1.5 inch wide toilet paper holder. Nicely fits inside the roll and prevents it from flopping around.

Eug, on his last toilet paper roll, buys new toilet paper.

Eug sticks toilet paper roll on holder. WTF?!??!? It does not fit.

Eug then discovers his old METRIC toilet paper roll is precisely 4 cm, or 1.57 inches, so it easily fits around the 1.5" holder. His new IMPERIAL toilet paper roll is precisely 1.5 inches, so it doesn't fit properly. :|

I can't believe that now own I have to look for metric toilet paper. :p

Dear Eug,

It appears that you have purchased "Left Handed Toilet Paper". The design you describe for your toilet paper holder clearly describes it as a our Model R-473215 "Right Handed Toilet Paper Dispenser". Please note these changes, and please purchase the proper material to load into the dispenser. For maximum performance, we recommend you use teflon coated toilet paper. Thank you.

That's why you should do as I do:

1)Rip open TP wrapper
2)Place 1 or 2 rolls on toilet tank
3)Throw remaining rolls in package on floor within easy reach of the throne
4)Replace rolls on toilet tank when necessary
5)Throw empty rolls on floor

hahaha. I am not sure what is funnier, the fact that you discovered slightly different sizes in toilet paper width, or that you decided to actaully post this discovery. :D

I think Eug is talking about the diameter of the tube? I 1.5" strip of TP would leave me with messy fingers :disgust:.

Teflon coated TP would be less effective than that waxy feeling government TP. The objective would have a tendency to slide of the TP and remain on your bum. What we need is a TP coated with a material with a high friction coefficient; but no so high as to rub off the skin .

Eug, can you sand down your dowel or did you make it out of steel tubing?
