If you can't do it, don't. Personally, my awakeness threshold is 36 hours. After that, things turn to nonsense. I can eek out a few more hours- maybe even up to 48- but those nothing gets accomplished in those 12 extra hours. Caffeine etc can help, but in the end you're just going to pay for it later.

Safer than crashing into a parked car,or a person. ;)

 Best way to stay awake? Short nap, definitely...

For LAN parties, Bawls. When you start to feel your eyes closing or that urge to sleep, drink one or two bottles and it will last you for the rest of the night. If not, repeat as necessary. :)

Why would you want to stay awake that long? I think the longest I've gone without sleep was close to 48 hours. That wasn't fun.

18 hours? That's when you start falling off? Sweet Jesus, I'm usually awake for 20 hours every day and I feel fine

It helps if you're trying to stop a presidential assination while your family is being kept hostage, or maybe if you're trying to find a nuclear bomb hidden in L.A. :)

For 50+ hour LANs I just keep a constant flow of Bawls in my system. Sometimes I resort to Adderol (no, not illigally. I have some leftover from when I was diagnosed with ADD).

My friend gave me this herbal energy boost stuff that you can buy at 7-11 I think. Anyway I ate two packs (mistake) and I ended up staying up for 72 hours straight completely wired. Then I slept for 17 hours.

18 hours? Geeze I wish a single day went by where that's all the time I was awake.

Back in 1989 I was working on a project that kept me up for 106 hours straight. I almost died doing that.

Cheers!
