method for changing desktops with ATI

I have just switched from nvidia to ati. I have a flat LCD HDTV and a dell 2405 hooked into my video card. Before when I wanted to watch a movie or something on my TV i would just go into properties and select the HDTV and say use as primary and do not extent desktop to my monitor. With the new ati card I was able to select the HDTV but it by default was set to extend to my monitor. Then when I tried switching back to my monitor, the picture on the HDTV disapeared and my monitor was still set on the extend mode so I had to shutdown and restart the computer because i had no video.

1) what is the easiest method for selecting between displays when I want to?

2) is there anyway to tell it I want the monitor to be primary and the HDTV to be secondary? because its flipped right now (can i just switch which is plugged into where on my card? )

thanks

ok nevermind i figured it out...but now my question is how to enable 720P HDTV support? If I click on force and goto HDTV my only two options are 1280x720 @60 and 1920x1080 @60. Is that the same thing as 720 and 1080p or should I actually set that somewhere? I am running 6.4 drivers with the chuck patch

At 60 Hz, that would be progressive, yes. Interlaced would be displayed as 30 Hz, if I remember correctly.
