Used to? Still is under the trade name Desoxyn.

People always say if not for the pharms weed and other drugs be legal. Well here is one case of a company and doctor say its ok then legal, you make it in your house, illegal.

It was? I thought it was a designer drug that was never legal. I realize that some amphetamines were, but methamphetamine specifically?

Ah, Wikipedia said it's been around since WW2 at least, and only banned in the US since like '83. Wow. I think we solved Polio faster than that...
 
wow that picture scares me. i dont think other people should like that. if only it were illegal to have and use, then no one would have to look like that and i would not be scared 🙁

In fairness, making it yourself is dangerous in both the immediate (explosion, fire, etc) and long (Parkinsons due to bad formulation, etc) term.

Dispensed by prescription, I imagine the dosing is more controlled, as is the production.

Addiction has a shockingly powerful hold over the brain and rational thinking, truly indescribable to someone who has not traveled the road.

When I was an active heroin addict I was arrested twice in one week, on a Monday afternoon for possession class a/b and on that Thursday morning for a felony larceny. Getting arrested Monday does not suddenly relieve the grasp the drug had on me, I used within half an hour of being released. Thursday and every day after is just another day as an addict, each day stands individual of all others. Consequences from yesterday are erased with the sickness of withdrawal and maddening cravings of the morning. It's ugly, unspeakably ugly.

Are the physical effects we see from meth use a result mainly of self neglect or does meth itself have some affect on the body. My understanding was that if was from self neglect, people loose weight because they don't care to eat (the drug is all that matters) and they get cut up because they fall down a lot and are uncoordinated on the drug. But does meth itself have some physical affect on the body?
 
I'm no expert, but amphetamines are an appetite suppressant, and are used for that purpose. I imagine using meth makes you not have to eat, just just keep going and going.... The injuries are self inflicted due to the itchy feeling, like you have bugs under your skin....
 
I've used meth myself (not currently) and it doesn't affect every one the same way. those with an addictive predisposition will be worse off than those who don't. I've never shot it but i've snorted, smoked it, and drank it in coffee. smoking it was a real rush and fast. ingesting was kinda odd cause it gave you a slow build.

Hell I could sleep on the shit.

a lot of the problems right now with meth is that there is no quality control and you're never sure exactly what you're getting.
