Meteor seen across wide swath of Pacific Northwest

SPOKANE ? An apparent meteor streaked through the sky over the Pacific Northwest early today, drawing reports of bright lights and sonic booms in parts of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Although a witness reported seeing the object strike the Earth in a remote part of Adams County, in southeast Washington, it had not been found.

"I'm convinced it was a meteor," said Geoff Chester, spokesman for the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. "It was a classic description of a fireball."

Chester speculated the meteor was the size of a big suitcase and had been orbiting the sun for millions of years before entering Earth's orbit.

The Federal Aviation Administration said a private pilot reported seeing the meteor hit the Earth in a burst of light near State Route 26 and the Lind-Hatton Road about 5:45 a.m.

Yes, they can. Probably depends on what it's made from.

I like this concept. I too would want my death to be some kind of freak event that resulted in the least-painful death possible, if any pain is even felt. Something completely unexpected that you could not prepare your mind for, which results in the anticipation of pain.
however, I would like it to not be any time soon, as I have not fulfilled life's purpose: no male children bearing my name yet. And no more men capable of producing offspring with the name in my family. Note: I shall never get a vasectomy either. Even if I have 10 boys.

Not to mention. Do you want to be remembered for some pussy death or "the dude that got his head taken completely off by a bad ass meteor."

And If somehow, someone got it on video I'd be a god.
