I have a raging clue looking forward to seeing them here in October, any feedback on how it went?

Please don't tell me they played much from St Anger...or indeed anything ;)

Also, that's one brutal tour!

They played nothing from St. Anger or Ride the Lightning when I saw them. IMO they played a little too much from the new album but it was a great show.

I also feel that I am the only Metallica fan that does not really like the song Dyer's Eve.

They did pull out a classic "Holier than Thou" which was a surprise, I never thought I would hear that.

Metallica conveniently returned to metal because it's popular these days. They are trend following, shallow losers and I have no respect regardless of their status these days.

Oh seriously cry about it. They are allowed to have their own taste, they don't have to follow yours. Either like them or don't, but I am so sick of hearing about this shit.

Meh, I heard some of the live recordings and wasn't impressed. Just didn't sound like they still had their edge and Hetfield's singing is annoying. However, I did like Death Magnetic aside from some of the singing and enjoyed Hammet's guitar work on that album.

Some friends went and they said it was amazing. I think The Sword opened up for them.

The Sword and Machinehead, though I think Machinehead was only on the first half of the tour.

They played 6 songs from DM, and I agree with the no RtL love. It's been a thing of late. Other then bits heard in their medleys, I haven't heard Creeping Death, Fade to Black, or Ride the Lightning in the last 3-4 shows of their's I've seen.

It's no more popular now than it has been recently. And compared to other genres it's still not very popular.

Any idea who's opening for them here in Aus?

EDIT: also no fade to black is not good news :(

I understand St. Anger, but nothing from Ride the Lightning? Lame.

Yeah they could have easily cut out one of the new songs for a ride the lightning song. I don't remember if they played anything off reload, if they did then it was fuel.

Saw them almost a year ago on this tour in Atlanta.

Got free tickets to the Delta suite, was pimpin :)

Great show.

Painful to the ears loud though.
