This was a famous case back in the day (1984). This guy actually killed someone, and also happened to be a Metallica fan. This was one of those cases that helped convince much of the US that Satanic cults were taking over suburbia, and heavy metal music was a major factor in all the baby sacrificing going on, especially if you played it backwards. What are the most widespread urban legends we have today that we'll be shocked by in twenty years?

In case you weren't old enough to remember at the time, all turned out bunk. No cults, Satanists are almost always harmless, and there is no such thing as multiple personality disorder.

I'm surprised they used the "metal made me do it" crap after the sh!tstorm Judas Priest went through...

MPD exists and has been scientifically observed, but it's the rarest of all mental disorders that are recognized as such.

Lethal injection? That's no fun. Electric chair would have been so much more fitting.

I've been listening to heavy metal since I was 6 or 7(28 now) and I don't worship satan.
All that sh!t was just an excuse for bad parenting.

if this wasn't why some songs from Kill Em All had to be removed from official albums, then why else ?

I always assumed it was some sort of permissions problems since Am I Evil and Blizkrieg were both cover songs.

This case was also used by Tipper Gore (Al's wife) in 1985 to get those "Parental Advisory" stickers on albums. So as to warn parents of the impending murderous rage that will soon consume their youngsters.
