Smoochy, what are you talking about? I posted tonight's setlist. What are you referring to?

Didn't realize you were posting a setlist. Thought you were posting your favorite songs from them.

My bad. 🙂

Oh, haha, nevermind then. Yep, that was tonight's setlist. First time they played Metal Militia in over 15 years, IIRC.

I would have liked to have heard that. That does sound like a very nice setlist though.

I just wish their newest material didn't suck so much. Their older stuff is the best.

I stand corrected. They played Metal Militia once back in 1995 for a Molson secret gig in Canada.

Other than that one instance, this is the first time in 19 years they've played that song in full live!

Damn, that setlist is quite a bit different from what they played in Portland.

We got Seek and Destroy instead of Jump in the Fire, and Helpless instead of Metal Militia. Also didn't get Horsemen, but I don't remember what they played there. Didn't get Holier Than Thou either, but we did get Wherever I May Roam.

And you guys saying "Why would you want to see them..", "May as well see POD..", have obviously never been to a Metallica concert and are qute frankly.. stupid. They always have, continue to, and probably always will put on a KICK ASS show.

I must see them play Holier Than Thou live !!!! THe energy in that song is sweet. So are Creeping Death and Seek and Destroy (wow missing tonight - maybe tomorrow).

I was working for Y&T when Metallica opened for us at the Stone in San Francisco.
I told them they needed to tune to the same tuner. They took my advice and the rest is history.
All of this story is true.

That's like when I saw Ozzy backstage a LONG time ago and told him that he should wear a really cool hat. He thought I said he should bite the head off a bat and the rest is history.

BTW: Creeping Death live in SF was probably my favorite song. Everyone chanting "Die, Die, Die" during the middle part was awesome!

I went to the show last nite. They played a whopping 2 songs from St. Anger the rest were all old stuff. They hardly played anything from load and reload as well. Both GodSmack and Metallica sounded great. This was the 27th time I have seen Metallica and have seen over 200 shows in all. I would have to say that was the loudest crowd I have ever heard. Those who are going tonight you are in for a great show. Enjoy. With the high ticket prices I couldn't afford to go to both shows 🙁

Creeping Death is always fvcking awesome in concert. Seek and Destroy also kicks ass live. I have never known a single person to walk away from a Metallica performance disappointed.

Because you never forget how to ride a bike.
Sorry, paying 150 dollars to see a one trick pony is simply not intelligent. PS, if you go have Lars sign my tin can for me.

I could I got tickets to see them this Sunday and also again in August 😉

You can't believe anything Lars says at the end of a concert. On the S&M disks he says at the end "Same time next year" and the crowd went nuts. Of course, they only ended up doing two shows like that on opposite sides of the country.

They've been playing 2-3 songs from St Anger recently and a lot of old stuff (Dyer's Eve, etc) they don't normally play. I was going to try and get tickets, but GA is sold out (duh) and the closest arena level seat was the 25th row 🙁.

yeah but i expected more since he said "this is the first time we've been to houston in 8+ years and we can't have any more of that. we are going on tour next spring and you can expect us to be back here" -- specifically saying he's coming back to houston then them not even making any texas tour dates just sucks🙁
