Metalheads: oppinions needed

Well I checked them out. Being that I'm old and that I was into this type of music before most of the posters here were even born 😉 , they sound alright. Nothing there that I didn't hear 20 years ago. How far can you go with this type of music though?

K, listened to some of it. It's pretty cliche metal, not bad I suppose. Don't like the vocalist thats for sure.

Not much into death metal, the closest I get is Shadow's Fall, so I can't really give an opinion.

I was pretty drunk at the show, but there certainly seemed to be a bunch of people that were into them. Good local fan base, perhaps? Ah well, just wanted to hear what you guys think.

listening now...

I'd say it's pretty good. Sounds like real metal, not this gnu-metal Staind/Limp Bizzzkit type crap. Sounds a bit like Korn's heavier stuff. Not bad.

It's pretty good, however, there are 1000+ other bands I would rather listen to. I think if they find a better vocalist and speed things up a bit, then they would be pretty damn good.

Don't like it much. 1(3) sounds pretty muddy, vocalist is crap.

If you want good metal, you gotta check out European metal, scandinavian in particular. Apart from Iced Earth (and perhaps Lamb of God) I haven't heard anything good from this side of the atlantic.

If you want some names in particular....
Dimmu Borgir (enthrone darkness triumphant) is quite good if you like black metal. For good old fashioned speed/heavy try Children of Bodom (perhaps Hate Crew Deathroll), for some innovative death metal try Dark Tranquility (Haven or Damage done for the innovation, The Gallery for great classic death metal). if you're looking for something new, try Apocalyptica, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil or Therion, they like to mix symphony/opera type music with metal. Nightwith and Apocalyptica in particular are very good.

Ever heard Nevermore? They are from Seattle. They're awesome.

Iced Earth rules.

Arch Enemy

Amon Amarth

/moshes around the room

Edit:

Ok, the first song really sucks. I would never listen to this garbage.

Same for song 2. Their vocalist sucks.

Song 3... WTF?

It amazes me that bands of this "caliber" can like have record deals. :Q
