Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes coming to steam

I don't mind playing on console but I know the PC version will look better thanks to AA alone.

Doesn't hurt that we could do full time 1080p 60fps

Pretty much, this made my whole damn month. Being an absolutely rabid stealth gamer, I'm super pumped. I was going to sell off a couple of things and purchase a PS4 almost exclusively for this game, but now that MGSV is coming to PC, I can give my comp a real workout!

I've started to replay MGS3 HD on the PS3 and it's a ton of fun, plus I can give myself a refresher on the series. Looks like everyone under the sun is going to be hit by the tidal wave that is Metal Gear Solid V.

This is awesome. Can't wait until it comes out. Awesome that console exclusives seem to find their way eventually to PC. (Dead Rising 3, Ryze, and now this 😀 )

Nice.

I'll still probably play the PS4 version. My PC is too noisy to put in the living room and cinematic games like this really shine on a big screen with a nice surround sound system.

Why is everyone thinking this will be a good port ?
For all we know, it can be just as crappy as the ports done in the past.

Console -> PC ports are generally good nowadays. Plus, MGS:Rising port was great.

While the MGS: Rising port was good this game isn't being made by Platinum or using the same engine.

Maybe I'm wrong but Kojima Productions didn't handle the port over to PC, it was Platinum.

So its kind of up in air whether its going good but they do have a good example to go off of in MGSR.

Cause the PS4 and XB1 are using x86 now and Kojima doesn't half ass any game he puts his name to.

You say Port without thinking. The XB1 dev kits were pretty much Windows 8 PCs even up until E3 2013. Also, the XB1 uses DirectX, albeit a more refined and optimized version of it. Still...wouldn't be very hard to make the engine work on Windows.

While the XB1 is closer to a windows box, the PS4, while still using x86 has vastly different rendering backend.
When I say crappy port for the current gen, I mean, there will not be better textures, all poly data stays the same, and it is pretty much a straight port, right down to needing a controller to play the game, since the keyboard/mouse was done as a after thought, and using it turns into being very clumsy controls.

We've been over this... 3rd person action games are built for a controller. Deal with it. Keyboard and mouse are clumsy for 3rd person games.

Also this is the Game Engine that MGS is using now, the Fox Engine.
