Yup... and despite this i still trust the user reviews far more than any "professional" review these days.

Some are lousy but its easy to smell bullshit anyways and move onto the next user review :thumbsup:

What I don't understand is how these people stay in business. How is it most gamers still don't know that game reviewers are on a publisher's payroll, whether it is advertisement revenue, access to pre-release copies, or just immediate payments... the fact is non of them are honest.
And yet when you see a fan defending a game, you will always get "Oh if this game is so bad then how did the xxxxxxx review give it a 10/10?".
 
I find humor in the ones that are obviously made by employees of companies that released a crappy game.

It was hilarious to scroll through the WarZ user reviews and read the fake 10/10 ones amidst all of the 0/10 scores.

"Don't listen to teh haterz, This game is GREAT!"
 
I remember the official review of Bad Company 2 and it was rated so far down (complained about audio, which was oddly one of the game's strongest points) meanwhile CoD MW2 was rated almost perfect that the users blasted the writer of the review and users rated Bad Company 2 significantly higher than what the official review was. That site is complete garbage anywaays.

I must confess that I also use Metacritic as I'm new to gaming & don't know any better........ 😱

Are there any non-biased sites that do game reviews?
 
Its not the cure all, as he does not do a lot of games, but I find my tastes align with Angry Joe... On YOUTUBE.

Metacritic. For me, its a sliding scale. If its over a 85, I have found its a game I will like. Not love. But like.

It DOES help if Reader Reviews are also high.

My 2 cents, with reader reviews you need to try and filter out FANBOIS but just as important, you need to remove those guys who give a half star because "this POS wont run on my machine" or "the game came with no activation code and when I called the company they said send them the receipt and I cant find it so this SUXORS ARRRRGHH"....

I need a new chop saw and I swear there were two reviews on this model I was looking at for a half star each.

One was "It wont cut a 2 by 10.... Well, its a 10 inch chop saw... NON compound so what do you think sparky?
And the other was plugged it in and it didnt work.. YES that sucks. But obviously you got a defective one. I dont think the saw deserves a half star for that. Liek I said... It sucks but its not a true representation of how the saw performs.
