So I am trying to install a mod/addon to Minecraft. I first delete the META-INF file like usual and then put the mod files in. I run Minecraft and then the mod isn't working. I then close Minecraft, look at the the jar file I opened up in winrar and I see that META-INF is back and my mod files I put in their are gone. If you could please help me.
 
Mods are not perfect. I know my kids use a few mods here and there, and you really need to follow the instructions closely, or live with the occasional crash due to them not writing there java code quite right.

Some suggestions:
1. Make sure you ARE running the latest version of Java (or the version they specify).
2. Make sure you ARE NOT running the latest Mincraft build, if applicable. The kids have a mod right now that will not work with newer versions.
