I met Clinton today with my sister and her friend at a fundraiser in Florida. Spoke to her for a couple of minutes, didn't ask her any tough question but did thank her repeatedly for the work she and her husband have done for this country.

She was actually very friendly and very articulate. I never really liked her very much when she occupied the Oval Office and would laugh when people mentioned her as a potential presidential candidate, but I came away really impressed, with not only her attitude but with her speaking abilities..

I met her husband before the intern incident. He's charismatic as they come.

Neat that you got to meet her.

Shook hands with J. Jackson & was in the front row to hear Gore speak...

Gore blathered on about "organic resources" for 1/2 hour before I realized he was talking about us, union members:disgust:

the woman you have your arm around on your left looks oddly familiar for some reason (I am guessing this is your sister?)....

As for Clinton or anyone for that matter I generally tend to not let someone's speaking abilities sway my feelings one way or another, while a great vocabulary and the ability to use it are generally indicators of a refined person they can also be the guise of that who truly does not know much.

I truly believe most politicians are nice people, that want to make the country better. Of course there are those who are pure evil incarnate *cough* DeLay *cough*, but generally they're rather likable otherwise they probably wouldnt be elected.

Politicians should be judged on their actions and not how they speak or look. Hillary is clearly a radical with her ideas on government run healthcare.. if she had her way we would have socialized medicine right now, and thats absolutely wrong... Next time thank her for NOT getting her agenda in Washington implemented.

I would love to see Hillary in the Dem primaries. I don't think she'd make it... lotta people still think she's a bitch and hate her. Who are they to disagree with her own husband? Being a good Lib she hates herself too, so it's all good.

-thanks pj

Conjur, what is this? Middle of the ground?
Hunh? I've never liked Hilary. Ever.

I keep telling people I'm not a commie-lib, leftist, Democrat. For some reason, though, the rabid righties don't get it.

I don't think there is a politician out there that you could meet and they won't seem nice (to your face). All they care about is support, and you don't get support by being mean, rude or anything else like that. I don't think I ever want to meet a politician face to face. They smile at you while they are twisting the knife in your back.

I'm noting that Hillary is the only one in the pic that doesn't have red eye from the flash. No soul?

I met her when hubby first got to be Pres. They came for a visit to the Embassy in Ottawa. I got my daughter into her group to do photos. She was a fine arts, photo student at Ottawa U. Although my daughter blew most of the photos in her excitement, I didn't see red eye in Hilary's eyes then either. you may be on to something.

Gee, who are you voting for? As someone who was a TA and lecturer at a university I have this strange idea that people who speak and write well have the ability to understand issues clearer. You know, if you write and explain issues clearly you have to have insight into those issues and can form a reasonable opinion. Perhaps the most depressing thing about the Bush admin from a educational perpective is how much the standards for public discourse have been lowered so that shouting slogans over and over again are now seen as acceptable.

YUCK! I can't stand that woman....

If she runs, I'll vote for Nader next time. :)
