Met at a restaurant for an interview, looking back and when the bill came

I interviewed for a corporate job at a bank but we met at a restaurant to get lunch as it was the only time slot the hiring manager had available during his busy week. We spent about an hour there, and it ended up just me asking him a bunch of questions and him spending most of the time talking/answering the questions. When the bill came, he took care of it but I forgot to thank him for the lunch and I didn't even show gesture that I would try to pay for mine. It probably appeared like I expected him to pay from the beginning. As we walked out, he did ask what my notice period at my current employer would be like and he said he is still in the process of interviewing others. I sent a 'thank you for taking the time to interview me' email that night but he didn't respond.

How does it sound like the interview went based on what I described above? Am I overanalyzing how I acted when the bill came and it's correct that the interviewer should pay?

A thanks would have been good, but in general I would not worry about it. If you did not get all nervous and say stupid things or act funny you're already a bunch of points ahead of most people.
