I have a 550 p3 ,256mb ram, 2 7200 hds, and a geforce 2 ti. I use the system for web browsing ,playing music ,and games.Ive always head about page files but dont know anything about it.Is there a way i optimize it?should i modify it?

If you're using winXP or 2k, its better to leave the page file alone. both of those operating systems have very good memory management. Its just as fast it you let it do its thing rather than butting in and telling it how to do it's job. I can understand why you'd want to if you were comming from a win9x/ME OS, which happen to have the worst memory management of all time 😉

You can make swap files on both of your HDDs (twice as small as current), you can also create small partitions only for swap file,
so it won't get fragmented.
Not sure is it worth spending time if you already got everything set up, but this can make things somewhat faster.
