While installing some sweet new akasa acoustic absorption matting inside my case, I accidentally unplugged my secondary storage/backup hard drive. Nothing happened, computer is running like nothing happened. Can I safely plug it back in with the computer still running? I have a 1 month+ uptime going and I'd hate to have to can it. Help! :(

you're going to have to power down.

I'd also like to add that its a dumb idea to do extensive work inside a case with the computer running.

Yep, it was dumb. But alas, it was too late- shortly after I posted this message, the system locked up, I got a BSOD and physical memory dump, incessant beeping, and all hell broke loose. 31.5 days of uptime down the drain. Oh well, I was able to hook my hard drive back up, reboot, and install Windows2000's new SP3 and reboot again, so all is well now.

Thanks anyway, folks.
