Has anyone come across this "messenger pop-up" garbage? All of the sudden I am getting these pop-ups even when I am not on the net, that are annoying!
It's funny they all direct me to this website www.broadcastblocker.com I finally decide to go there, and then find that this person says:
"Hard facts about Messenger Spam:
-Messenger Spam is the fastest growing type of unsolicited advertising on the Internet today! It has been recorded as growing as much as 1500% a month
-You are not protected! If you haven't received a pop up message through Messenger, you are guaranteed to any day now
-ISPs and governments are powerless to stop it. There are no laws governing these types of messages. If you can trace down the sender of these pop ups, there is no legal way to stop them!
-Messenger Blocker can help you block these ads "
Okay, I find this kind of annoying, and this site wants me to purchase this product to stop these messenger attacks... which have not happened until now! All of these pop-ups keep telling me to go to this site...
I am really annoyed and find this very devious. It seems as though these pop-ups were created to force people to have to buy this software. Anyone know of what this person is talking about in this qoute below?
"This message was sent to your computer through a built in feature that Microsoft included in your copy of Windows 2000, NT, or XP"
What is this "built in feature"? What tweaking can be done to get rid of this?
