messed up text file - PRANK

You know sometimes when you screw something up your long paper becomes a series of strange symbols and random text? My friend has a paper that he is gonna print out tomorrow and I want to play a prank on him(i'll make sure not to screw with the original)....how can i force it to do that?

You should just delete a large portion of it so it looks like he opened up an old, quarter finished version instead of the final copy.

oh I have it backed up a few times in different places..just need to mess it up now..Haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

Go to a chinese or japanese site (if you don't have chinese or japanese font installed on your comp) and just copy-paste the symbols and boxes you see over whatever he has typed. It'll look good enough.
