Messed up story about BMW dealer

That's messed up. Sounds familiar though, was it a Mustang the last time or something? I don't remember, but some guy took a car out for a joyride and totalled it, and then posted about it on a board where the owner of the car posted.

It was Carbon Black, it had no moon roof, and had the cloth seats instead of leather.
Am I blind? The seats in those pictures are leather.

Eitherway, that dealership does suck. Much like the guy who got screwed by the dealership over his EVO, I doubt savage will be pleased to find this on the net.
What would have happened to me if I didn?t know anyhing about the body shop business? I would have allowed them to fix the car for $20K and gotten a car that is basically worthless because it is now tweaked on both the front and the rear, with a severely affected resale value.
IMPORTANT. My brother's GF got his car in an accident some years back and a cheapy bodyshop, directed by his insurance, did an $8k repair job on his $13k car. However, since there was frame damage he had a hell of a time selling it and had to take a huge loss. The car should have been considered a total, and getting 3rd party estimate is important.

Volkswagen.

Ya, I think last year some stupid "kids" in the service department took some "dumb woman's" Cobra out for a joyride and bragged about it online, even posting her license plate. I don't know if they totalled the car tho.

Did you see the pics? The freaking WHEEL is torn off the car... and the dealer pretty much takes a "it was a regular accident" approach with the owner of the vehicle.

I have a 2001 Cobra, and it's not as $$$ as a BMW M3, but if something like that happened to my car, I would have gone Private Pyle on the dealer.

Oh, I guess there was a mustang as well 😱 Everytime I take my sentra to the dealer I keep an eye out for damage, because these little things get taken for joyrides all the time 😀

Actually I'm almost positive it was a Mustang Cobra that was totalled by a kid at a dealership taking the car out for a joyride. I'm sure other people will remember.

Well i'm sure there was a case of a guy with a jetta who came to the dealership to find his car a bit wrecked to. Not necessarily a joyride though. Has anybody got pics of the joyride ordeal?

The SVT Cobra in that old post wasn't wrecked, just taken for a joyride. No one would have know about it but the idiot mechanic bragged about it on some board.

Whenever I take my car in to be worked on, I document the mileage with time-stamped photos and inform the shop that I have done so. Keeps 'em on the straight and narrow.

edit: IIRC, the Jetta was Aphex's.

I've got a buddy who works in a Subie dealership in Oregon and he says that setting back the odometers is easy as heck. Anytime they get more than one WRX or STi in the shop at the same time they always go out autoXing at lunch time.

Look at the back part of the seat, it is cloth. The option is for either the full leather (more $$), or the leather/cloth seat.

😀 Nice try Skoorb 😛

Anyway, my Scooby has never been serviced at a dealership.

btw, look at those pics again. That bimmer has the cloth seats with leather trim. Check the light bit of sunlight under the steering wheel in that one pic. That's one hell of a nightmare dealer story. He gives too much credit to himself and his lawyer though. Only an idiot would have negotiated directly with the dealer (or even thought of it). And his original request was unreasonable, no one gets a new car in an insurance settlement, they always give you a check. Myself, I would have just left the dealership, with my car, and sic'ed my insurance company on them. They total and replace the car, and then sue the dealer and their insurance company for you.

edit: looks like I took too long composing my post and the Skoorb Effect strikes again! :Q😛😀

BMW M3's have got to be the finest driving machines around but BMW customer service sucks!

When i was in my early 20's, i walked into a BMW dealership and walked around the white M3 that was in the salesfloor and the salesman was slumped over leaning on the roof. So i say Hi.. and we carry a conversation with him still slumped over.. what a d1ck !.. I just walked out across the street and bought a white gs4 and drove it home the next morning. (I was leaning toward the gs anywayz, becuase its more roomy and i love how high the armrest is.. lol) ....But i did want to tell the manager to educate that salesman.. just cuz a kid in jeans walks into your salesroom doesn't mean he doesn't have $$$ to buy the entire showroom if he wants... fvcktard salespeople suck !

Then i emailed BMW customer service three times just giving them the 411.. no reply!
Maybe the salesman was a hunch-back... who knows?

yeah? so? for every rich 20-year-old there are hundreds of loser twenty-year-olds who are low on cash, but like to look at stuff. salespeople go for the people who look best fit to buy something. don't try to fight stereotypes which are correct 90% of the time (it's called profiling).
